Oh my gosh I can't believe its two months from now. It's out now!

Kinda bummed that I recognized some previous animation like the turn and walk left part but playing through Mass Effect so many times can do that to a person.

More spoilers, omg :happyanim: So glad I pre-ordered the CE.
Couldn't get video link so check out the link for Enemies of Mass Effect 2.

I just finished reading the second Mass Effect book, Ascension, and they talked about the
Spoiler
. The book doesn't ruin anything, just gives a bit more info on things and follows a little girl who is a biotic prodigy.

System specs and DRM revealed for PC version:

Quote

The system requirements for the PC version of Mass Effect 2 have been revealed, along with the surprisingly barebones DRM that BioWare will employ in the sequel -- which is to say very little DRM at all.
"The boxed/retail PC version of Mass Effect 2 will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication," wrote BioWare community director Chris Priestly in his announcement post on their official forum. "This is the same method as Dragon Age: Origins. Digital versions will use the retailer's protection system."

As for the system requirements, you can find the quite reasonable prerequisites (both minimum and recommended) below.

How awesome is Mass Effect 2? Well, if BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly is to be believed, it is about twice as awesome. "You cannot fit this much awesome on one disc," Priestly stated on the BioWare forums, after revealing the game content will span two discs.

The necessity of two discs may mean a staggering amount of content for the RPG sequel -- the original was certainly no slouch in content. While some may lament the necessity of having to get up at least once during Mass Effect 2, Priestly promises that the disc swap happens at a dramatically appropriate point in the story. "Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done."

We're going to fathom a guess as to when the swap will occur: immediately after the "suicide mission" revealed in the game's initial teaser.

An RPG using more than one DVD?! lol I bet they fixed the texture popping and now have two discs, ohhhhh!

Texture popping is an artifact of texture streaming... Not how many discs are required to run the game.

Got the word from someone that the spoilers could drop now which totally sucks. I don't want to know, la la la, I'm not listening!

Just wanted to pass on a word of warning to those trying to stay spoiler-free: the "embargo" held on releasing Mass Effect 2 information ends tomorrow, meaning that spoilers may start to drop on various websites. I know that, for instance, IGN will post impressions of the first 90 minutes of the game tomorrow on their site..so be careful what you read.

I played it on the Xbox and repurchased it last month for the PC.

My first play through on the xbox was mired down in the secondary missions... which aren't very interesting (alone in a desert planet w/o a unique cutscene for miles). I quit after 20 hours of mostly side-missions, and I disliked the sniper rifle with a passion (in combo with the controller).

My second playthrough was pretty tight. I avoided the sniper rifle which was terrible unless your target was long range and playing defensive. I also avoided the side-missions. The total playtime was 26 hours. I focused on talking to the teammates between the major quests. I felt that compared to Dragon Age there was a lack of charm between the main character and the companions. Maybe that's why they introduced more edgy characters into ME2?

The ending of ME1 was worth replaying it, but I wish there was more to companions... I never felt like I had to do anything for them since the more alien-looking of them were intellectually uninteresting.

I remember when I was a kid, we would pop our textures over a real fire, but now we just use the microwavable textures. It's much faster, and they have the butter flavoring already in the bag with the textures. Just remember, when texture popping, to stop the microwave once there are 2 or more seconds between pops or you will burn the whole bag of textures.
I am currently boycotting signatures.

If I don't have my gaming rig back up and running by release day for this, I'm going to cry. Most anticipated game of the year for me.

I had it for 360 as well when it first came out, dint play it much due to various reasons, main being my 360 died, but i HATED the control set up.

I couldnt resist when it came up for $5 on steam just wished i had bought it earlier as i missed out on a damn good game.

Yeah you know all the videos and screenshots make it look like Mass Effect fully polished. They've done without the annoying elevator (I didn't really mind it as many others did), texture popping, focused on unique worlds in the galaxy, give you flight navigation (ship icon travels to planet or wherever you're pointing to) and weird Mako driving input (again this didn't bother me once I learned to drive it/ you get a dif vehicle this time around). You also have events from the first like spoiler spoiler, if you want to know read below but its spoiler alert time.
:o :o :o
Spoiler

Quite frankly I can't remember what I did on my first playthrough but luckily you can load that profile and check out the journal to see what you decided.

BTW ME DLC on 360 are all discounted this week, those bastards lol. Finally picked up Pinnacle Station.

ALSO Syfy channel is doing a Sci-vs-Fi show about Mass Effect 2, (they've done one on Fable II, Gears of War, and Mass Effect), Tuesday at 11/10C. I plan on making it much worse with the waiting by watching it lol. It'll prob be on live marketplace later on too.

I believe this is part of that show, or at least it looks like it has the same UI shown. Mass Effect 2 Dev Diary
