What is Glory of War?
We are a community of like-minded, mature gamers that have banded together to have fun! We are not a clan.

That's nice, but who runs (and pays for) the show?
Glory of War is joint-owned and operated by a group of individuals you'll hear commonly referenced as "owners". All owners use the "Evil Overlords" forums mask so that they're easily identifiable. Their names appear in red.

How can I join?
There are no skill requirements, try-outs, or any of that silly crap. If you'd like to join, there are only two requirements: you must have 15 posts on the forums, and you have to have been registered at the forums for at least two weeks. After those requirements are fulfilled, a "Members" forum will become visible to you in which you can request the tag.

Tag? What tag? What does this tag look like?
All regular Glory of War members wear the [GofW] tag in front of their name. Our administrators (owners and non-owners alike) wear the [GofW-A] tag.

What if I want to join one of the guilds?
The joining process for our MMOs is slightly different, and it varies among the various games we play. It is suggested that you check out the forum of the guild you are trying to join for any specific instructions. More often than not, guild policies will supersede the regular membership requirements and you may be able to forgo the previously mentioned requirements.

Can I be an administrator?
The short answer is "no". The owners of Glory of War are the primary administrators on all of our servers and are or have delegated the position of the leaders in all of our guilds. Administrative status is delegated to other members as we see fit. However, this is almost exclusively by invitation. If you ask, chances are that you'll be turned down. As mentioned above, owners' names appear in red. Non-owner server administrators' names appear in green.

What games does Glory of War play?
We officially support these games (with official servers, guilds, Teamspeak channels, etc.): Company of Heroes, Eve: Online, Guild Wars, Sins of a Solar Empire, Team Fortress 2, and World of Warcraft. From time to time, we host special events in other games (such as Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Rune, Defcon, and several others).

What are the addresses to your servers?

What is Teamspeak and how can I get access to it?
Teamspeak is a voice chat system we use to talk, laugh, and have a good time while playing our games. It can be accessed with the official Teamspeak client by accessing the address ts.gloryofwar.com. Anyone can sign on and talk in the lobby, but only registered members can drop to the game channels below. When a new player signs on, the owners try their best to go to the lobby and help that player get registered. You will be able to identify an owner in Teamspeak by the (SA) after their name. Non-owner admins will have a (CA) after their name.

What should I do if I have been banned from a server or kicked from a Glory of War guild?
You may appeal the ban decision in this forum. The owners will then discuss the details of your case and reevaluate the situation. If we find that you were banned in error or unprejudicially, the ban will most likely be rescinded.
